In accordance with Section 29 of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 (14 of 2013) and OM dated 21 July , 2009, in F.No. 11013/3/2009-Esst.(A) issued by the Dept. of Personnel & Training, Govt. of India, our college has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to conduct inquiries regarding harassment cases.

DEFINITION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT:

"Sexual harassment" includes such unwelcome sexually determined behaviour, whether directly or otherwise, as:

physical contact and advances
demand or request for sexual favours
sexually coloured remarks
showing any pornography, or
any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature

If you are harassed, what should you do?

You can meet in person or call or file a complaint (hand-written, typed and signed or email) to WGRC members

You can register your complaint online using the Complaint Registration Form or mail to grievancecell@mountzion.ac.in

You can also post your complaint letter in the suggestion box available in the college campus.

You can also contact the chairperson or any other members directly. Rest assured that your complaint will be kept CONFIDENTIAL.

Possible actions against if the respondent is faculty:

Warning

Written apology

Bond of good behaviour

Adverse remark in the Confidential Report

Stopping of increments/promotion

Suspension

Dismissal

Any other relevant mechanism

A student guilty of sexual harassment shall be liable for any of the following penalties:

Warning or reprimand

Suspension from college for a period of a week or a month

Debarment from appearing for the examination for a period up to three years

Any other punishment as defined by the government act.
