COMPUTER CENTRE

Students can also access all their files even from home through the Internet. Details on how to configure the setting are available on the website in the Remote Access Information. The supplementary CDs that come with Library books are also hosted on a server. This allows all our students to simultaneously access this valuable resource too. Our college undoubtedly has the best computing facilities in the region. The Computer labs are open on all days 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

The campus is serviced by an 50 Mbps Fiber Optic Internet Connection. Internet connectivity is provided 24/7 and it allows students to be on the information superhighway at all times. The college has 8 servers running on a gigabit backbone and all the links function at a minimum speed of 100 Mbps. These servers handle tasks from hosting the Active Directory service to handling the internal mails.

There is also a dedicated streaming media server which hosts the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Open Courseware Content and NPTEL's lecture series from premier engineering institutes in India like IIT's. Considering the urgency to inculcate in depth knowledge in computer technology,the college has made computer literacy compulsory for all its students. The central computer centre has over 500 computers.

All the computers in the campus are networked. The lab is up-to-date in all respects. Students are given unfettered freedom to experiment and learn in the lab. Our college is the first in the region to have a completely Wi-Fi campus. All academic are as, workshops, hostels and playgrounds are covered. This allows our students to have all the information they need at their finger tips.

LIBRARY

The Mount Zion Library is the primary library resource for study, teaching, and research in engineering on the MZ Campus and is an outstanding means of learning, catering to the ever-growing and uncompromising information and intellectual requirements of the students and the faculties.

The College Library has developed an excellent collection of the latest as well as old volumes, 165 journals comprising of National and International titles and 45 Technical & Non-Technical Magazines. It also has a collection of over 1000 resource Compact Discs, and Video Cassettes under various titles.

Our library is also a member of the IEEE and DELNET. Each year, on an average of 3500 volumes are added to the collection and a large cache of e-book available to the students from the college Intranet. These e-books can be used any time at the will of the students. To improve the English knowledge of the students, a rich collection of English literature is made available. The reading room of the library is spacious, well illuminated and can accommodate many students.

The library is completely computerized. The library uses MZCET OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), the users can search the Library Online Catalogue by Author's name, title, subject, and keywords available on the campus LAN.

• College buses ply from Melur, Karambakkudi, Pattukkottai, Karaikudi, Tirupatur, Devakottai, Ponnamaravathi, Gandarvakkottai, Aranthangi, Alangudi, Pudukkottai, Sivagangai City, Trichy, etc,.

• New routes are being constantly added. Kindly contact the office if you require the transportation route to be extended to your location.

• Contact the Administrative Office to register for Transportation Services. Students will be issued a Transportation Identity Card, which should be carried at all times while using the College Transportation.
